Feeling special

I have been working my butt off on fixing up my blog and trying to grow it and I feel the hard work paying off. My schedule is jam-packed. Every day of the week I am at my internship site. Two nights a week, I have class. On the weekends I usually work on school work or curriculum to use at the middle school. Occasionally, I see some friends and family. Point is: I really don't have time to blog but I am loving it so much that I'm fitting it in as much as possible.

So, this weekend, wonderful Miss Ashley nominated me for the Liebster Award and I was beyond excited. Thank you, Ashley, for noticing me!

The rules are as follows:
Give 11 random facts about yourself
Answer the 11 questions asked
Leave a link back to the blogger that nominated you
Nominate bloggers with less than 200 followers and let them know they've been picked
Write 11 questions for them to answer

11 random facts about me

1. I am the older child.
2. I am exactly 10 years younger than my older cousin, and exactly 10 years older than my younger cousin, in my Dad's side of the family.
3. I play tennis, and played competitively from ages 11-17.
4. I have called the same place home since I was 2 weeks old. The only other place I have ever lived is Tallahassee, FL and I do consider it my second home but it's not truly home because my family lives nowhere close to there.
5. I broke my finger when I was in the 4th grade. That is *knock on wood* the only bone I have ever broken.
6. I graduated high school with an IB diploma and because of this, was able to start my freshman year of college with 30 credits, technically making me a sophomore on day 1.
7. I have owned 2 cars in my lifetime - both Toyota Corolla's.
8. My oldest best friend (10+ years) is a guy.
9. I have a cow.
10. There is a road named after my family, and my last name is very unique.
11. I have never switched schools. Except for the natural transitions from elementary to middle school, middle school to high school, high school to college, and college to grad school.

My responses to Ashley's questions

1. What is your dream city to live in?
Anywhere by the beach. I do think it would be neat to live in Chicago, or somewhere in California, or North Carolina though.
2. What is your all-time favorite TV show?
I would have to pick FRIENDS as an all-time favorite. I love TV though so it was a really hard decision to choose one, but that show literally covers everything that is wild and crazy and I love it. Such a classic.
3. What's your favorite candy?
Depending on my mood: dark chocolate, though because of its health benefits I don't consider it candy. I love me some Sour Patch Kids when I really want to be bad.
4. Gold or silver?
I've worn silver most of my life but lately gold is growing on me.
5. You're a contestant on a reality TV show - which show would it be?
The Bachelor/Bachelorette.
6. What's your biggest pet peeve?
Negativity. I HATE (not to be negative, lol) when people focus on everything that's negative. I'm definitely an optimist.
7. Favorite ice cream flavor?
8. Which celebrity would you like to have a coffee date with?
Female celebrity: Emma Stone, Anna Kendrick, or Rachel McAdams. I could totally be friends with any them. Male celebrity: Ryan Gosling, Skylar Astin, or Josh Hutcherson. Or all three. The men, not the ladies.
9. Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
It's funny because for most of my life I have considered myself an introvert until about 4-5 years ago, I think something changed, and I tend to be more of an extrovert. Maybe it has to do with what I'm studying to do. As a school counselor, it would be tough to be an introvert. If I take a personality test though, such as Myers-Briggs, I come out about 49% extrovert and 51% introvert. I think it depends on the situation I'm in and who I'm with too.
10. Do you speak any languages other than English? If not, what would you like to speak?
I speak some Spanish but nowhere near being fluent. That's a goal of mine - to become fluent in Spanish. I would also like to learn German. My grandma was born in Germany and lived there during WWII and I have always wanted to visit.
11. If you're looking online for a good recipe, where is the first place you go?
Pinterest - and usually to my Recipes boards first. I've got a ton of recipes pinned that I have not yet made. If I can't find something there, then I start searching on Pinterest.

  1. You're so welcome! We have a lot in common...Friends is my favorite tv show, it's my goal to become fluent in Spanish, & it's the exact same for me as far as the gold/silver thing goes! Oh, and I'm from CA & Chicago is my second dream city (after NYC)!

    1. Ashley! You are so awesome! I can't help but watch the Friends reruns on Nick at night. Thanks for being my blogging friend :)

  2. Cool! You have a cow?? I love cows. Being a vegetarian, I consider cows pets. I wish I had the space to have a few.

    1. Hi Stephanie! I do have a cow, it lives 5 minutes from me in my Grandma's field and it requires no care. Sadly, she does sell the calves it has for me, and I have not taken part in the process of taking it to the auction house since I was a little kid. Everyone of my cousins has had a cow since they were born too.

  3. Yay! Congratulations! These blog awards are so much fun!

    1. Thanks Susannah, it was really fun!

  4. lol I would love to be on The Bachelor too (in theory) but they always end up acting so crazy. I'm not sure I could live with the ramifications. lol. Found you through the Mingling Monday's bloghop. x

    1. Hi Lesley! Agreed, I think I wouldn't adapt well to the craziness in the house, would probably befriend every girl even though that's not the reason for being there, and get my heart broken lol. The # of successful couples from the show is super low and interestingly enough, usually the Bachelorette couples are the ones that last. Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Hi Angela! Stopping by from Monday Mingling blog hop. Congrats on your Liebster Award! I'm a new follower, looking forward to reading more posts! Have a good week!
