Dexter
aired 8/11/13
After the way last week's episode ended, and the preview for this week, I COULD NOT WAIT to see what would happen with Hanna and what she did to Dexter and Deb. Deb wakes up home alone while Dexter wakes up in a field somewhere. Deb comes to pick Dexter up and he won't tell her what he knows at first, but by the time she shows up to get him, she has figured it out. Dexter starts his usual stalking and figures out where Hanna is, follows her to a club, and meets her new husband. WHAT. Oh, and she's Maggie now, not Hanna - and her hubby knows all there is to know about Dexter Morgan. Right away I guessed she was using him for something, though she says she isn't. She claims to be in love with him but we learn quickly that he is a powerful man, and she still wants Dexter. They have a secret rendezvous, her hubby finds out, and sics his gangsters on Dexter. Miles ends up dead at Hanna's hand and of course Dexter comes to the rescue and helps her cover it up. I have a small inkling that Dexter and Hanna will end up back together, possibly even married, by the end of the season. But as always with this show, the possibilities are endless. Maybe Deb will kill Hanna. Or Zach will kill Hanna. Speaking of Zach, how sad is it that he murdered Cassie? Dexter needs to focus and start helping him, instead of using him to get into clubs to follow Hanna. If Dexter doesn't start helping him soon, I have a feeling that Dr. Vogel will start teaching him the code, and that could go terribly wrong. I'm excited Quinn and Jamie are moving in together, even if it was motivated to be a slap in the face to Angel. I'm hoping Deb doesn't come between them after everything she has put Quinn through, but I think that's a likely possibility. I also think Deb and Elway are bound to get together at some point. I'm excited to see what transpires next!
Hello fellow TV fanatics. Welcome back! We're at week 12 of Weekly TV Roundup and it's pretty exciting to realize this has been going on for so long. I've got a different format for my post this week since I have a lot on my mind in my personal life - when I have a lot going on I make lists, so bullet points it is!

I took a break from Weekly TV Roundup last week due to personal reasons. My life has felt like pure chaos the past two-three weeks, between a number of things, the biggest being that I was hired as an elementary school counselor, and then two days later told that someone on a surplus list needed to be placed and that job would no longer be mine. Huge disappointment. So I'm plugging away with more job applications, more interviews, and oh yeah, our school year begins next Thursday - which means if/when I get hired, it will be crunch time and the next week and a half will fly by and be more chaos. But if I get hired, I will embrace the chaos that comes with it and be more than happy to start my career. Thanks for listening to my rant...now on to the link up.

This week I am co-hosting Funday Monday with Carly at Lipgloss and Crayons and Molly at Still Being Molly. I love this link up so much because you can literally write about anything! I love reading what everyone has to say about different topics.
I have had this summer off from work and school. It has been two months since graduation and unfortunately I'm still looking for a job. School counseling jobs are hard to come by. I met with the principal of a local elementary school at the end of March and really thought I would end up being hired there. In my district, new jobs are posted each Monday. I have been checking, and checking, and checking. Nothing was showing up. I called the school last week to find out that the principal had decided not to hire a school counselor for the upcoming school year.
I have been feeling disheartened and frustrated lately. I worked my butt off in my graduate program and have nothing to show for it yet. It has been discouraging. I am still optimistic though and am keeping my options open. I have searched for jobs in mental health agencies, at the local university level, and have decided to begin studying for the K-6 elementary education exam - so I can possibly start out as a teacher.
Positive thoughts are much appreciated as I continue through this struggle to begin my career as a school counselor. Not just for myself, but for my fellow classmates who have just graduated (there were about 12 of us) and are still on the hunt for jobs as well.

Pretty Little Liars
aired 7/1/2013
I want to say this show couldn't get any more twisted and confusing if it tried, but every week I am proved wrong by what the Liars get themselves into and what A comes up with. The girls are now being watched by the new detective in town and his partner.
Hanna runs into them at the bank when she goes to see her mom and they are emptying out Wilden's vault. Caleb is always around to save the day when Hanna gets stuck talking to the female detective. He also helps her cover for her mom when the detectives show up on their front door step. I think if Hanna doesn't stop trying to stick her nose all up in this business, she's going to get herself or her mother into some trouble. She confronts her mom about being in Rosewood the night Wilden was killed.
Emily's dad returns to town and her parents are under investigation. It doesn't help that she takes off running in the middle of the night screaming at them and the cops show up. I have a bad feeling that her parents are going to end up getting arrested, or Emily will be removed from the home, something along those lines.
Spencer is still all about helping Toby. She finds the doctor his mother saw in Radley isn't far from Rosewood and he sets off to find him and try to find out what went down. Toby locates him and they have a nice, long chat about his mother. At the end of the conversation, the doctor tells Toby to tell his mother he said hello. So, the guy has lost it clearly. But he says something interesting about the blonde girl coming to visit her. Dun, dun, dun.... Spencer spills to her mom and Melissa that she's been rejected from UPenn. They're not okay with that, of course.
Aria has started seeing her martial arts instructor, Jake. They run into Malcolm while walking through town and he asks why Aria never comes over anymore. Jake gets this confused look on his face and Aria ends up telling him about what happened between her and Ezra.
The big event of the episode: Spencer and Aria set up Melissa and then follow her to the mask shop, where Melissa is seen dragging out a bag so large and heavy that Aria questions whether a body could fit into or not. It doesn't contain a body but it is full of Ali masks and she destroys every single one of them. Spencer confronts her about Wilden's death and I'm pretty sure Melissa is guilty.
In the end, the girls get a text letting them know that Melissa isn't part of the A team. I find it odd that Mona was MIA this episode. Only makes me wonder what she is up to. I'm interested to see what happens between Aria and Jake. Is Ezra really out of the picture?
Dexter
aired 7/7/2013
I also watched Dexter (only one time through) and have a little to comment on. Dr. Vogel is already an interesting character. As I kind of guessed at last week, Harry had talked to her about Dexter. I really liked the videos of Harry consulting her. I feel it gave an interesting take on Dexter's evolution and the early stages of his serial killer side. Deb is going on a killing spree herself and can't even remember that she killed El Sapo. Time to lay off the drugs and drink, woman. I'm curious to see what happens with Jamie and Quinn. I hope they stick together and Quinn's protectiveness over Deb doesn't get in the way of their relationship. Is it wrong that next week I'm hoping for Dexter to kill someone? I know he killed Briggs last week but I'm waiting for the first plastic wrap kill of the season still.

Dexter
Season 8 premiere - A Beautiful Day
The "recap" of seasons 1-7 that played before the episode started was amazing. I loved hearing all of the actors' points of view of the show. I am not looking forward to this series ending.
6 months have passed since Deb killed Captain LaGuerta. Everyone is present for a dedication of a bench to her except for Deb, who is "out of town," which is apparently code for getting high and hooking up with a guy in a hotel...at least that's what we are led to believe until Dexter goes to her house and finds an overflowing mailbox, and then heads to her supposed new employer, who hasn't heard from her in weeks. He tracks her down in Fort Lauderdale and she wants nothing to do with him.
Miami Metro has a visitor - a neuropsychologist who is there to help with a new case. She suspects a serial killer is involved in a recent murder. She gets 1-on-1 with Dexter and starts asking him about the Bay Harbor Butcher. At this point, I'm already thinking she is up to no good for Dexter's well-being. She's eyeing him in the meeting every time she talks about psychopaths and serial killers.
It wouldn't be a season premiere without Dexter murdering someone. He comes through just before the episode is over by stabbing Deb's "boy toy" who she has been supposed to bring in to her employer. Deb tells him to leave and Dexter returns to his car to find the back passenger door open and Harrison MIA. Leave it to Dexter to run and pick up his kid with blood all over his hands.
The episode ends with Dr. Vogel approaching Dexter as he sits on LaGuerta's bench. She hands over some child-like drawings with Dexter's name on them. He runs up and grabs her and slams her into a wall. She tells him "you can't kill me." He asks "why not?" and she responds..."I don't fit Harry's code."
What!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did Harry know this woman? Did he tell her about Dexter? Is she going to kill him in the end? Or is Deb?
All I know is Deb is headed in a straight up downward spiral. If she doesn't kill herself intentionally, something bad is going to happen. I'm thinking overdose, or getting mixed up in the wrong kind of business and getting herself killed.
And what about the season preview?! ajakdjfoaindnfd W-O-W

Pretty Little Liars
Turn of the Shoe - aired 6/18/13
I love that the Liars are still not trusting Mona. I think she deserves it after all of the crap she has put them through. I still don't trust her completely. Part of me wants to but another part of me is saying it's just part of her little game. The attack on her by the masked person when she got in her car was perfect timing. I'm always excited when a new episode opening begins, especially with a twist.
I'm getting mad at Toby for hiding stuff from Spencer! I know he wants to know what happened to his mom but what about your girl, dude?! She is a total catch. Except for that time she went all mental hospital on everyone. Is it wrong to think A is behind her rejection from UPenn?
I cringed when I saw Emily popping those pills. And now I'm suspicious of Hanna's mom. Also, how cute is Aria's new martial arts instructor?!
I was overjoyed at Hanna confronting Shauna, and Spencer confronting Ezra! About time for both.
Ali's mom is creeping me out completely. Why is she now coming home? And the bird, really?
C-R-E-E-P-Y!
So, the end of the episode leaves me still wondering about Mona and where her loyalty lies, and if Hanna's mom really did have something to do with Wilden's death. I wouldn't be shocked if she did. Or if she was going to end up framed for it. That guy put her family through a bunch of misery for no good reason.

Awkward
Redefining Jenna - aired 6/11/13
I feel like this show JUST came back on, and now the season finale is airing. What the heck is up with that?! How is time flying by so quickly?! Okay, that's enough ranting about how fast time passes for now.
First off, I love that Ming is the new leader of the Asian mafia and I can't wait to see how that continues to play out next season. I see it working in Jenna's and Tamara's favor.
So, Jenna is all over Collin and I can't say that I blame her. He's more mature than Matty and about as equally attractive. (Don't worry, it's okay for me to say that, because even though they play high school students, the guy who plays Collin is two years older than me, and Beau Mirchoff [Matty] barely qualifies for being a year younger than me. I double-checked.) Back to what I was saying, Jenna has the hots for Collin and she ditches Matty to hang with him at a photography exhibit. She ends up staying there almost the entire night and ignoring Matty's texts. Finally she heads to the party her bffl is co-hosting and lets Matty know she's outside. In Collin's truck. Yep, something is about to go down between them. He already told her he broke up with his girlfriend and wanted to be with a girl like her. They get their make-out on and Matty shows up just as Collin is pulling away, with no Jenna in sight. She pops up behind him and says "hi" all innocent like. I had a strong feeling she was going to end up getting some action from Collin. I'm glad she did. I feel like it's time for her to move on from Matty and see what happens there. Team Matty. Team Jake. Team Matty. Team Collin. I can't wait for the next season to start!
Pretty Little Liars
A is for A-l-i-v-e - aired 6/11/13
This part is going to be really brief, but thank goodness for DVR again because I had to wait until Wednesday morning to catch up on my PLL addiction. A pig was in the trunk?! Seriously?! As soon as I saw that though, I had a strong feeling Wilden would turn up dead before the episode was over. So Mona spills a bunch of A-team secrets to the Liars, A sends creepy texts, the girls meet their mini-mes outside Mona's lair, the Liars attend Wilden's funeral, Hanna's mom's phone is found in his coffin, and Toby turns over the lair for information about his mother. So much to process. I'm ready to hear something more serious about Melissa since for the past few seasons it's always being hinted at that she's a bad person and she's on the A-team. I want to know what her deal is. I kinda feel like she killed Allison. Or CeCe. Or both of them. And Jenna. I feel like it was mean girls vs. mean girl, right. I mean, it had to be, didn't it? I'm also excited about this new detective in town and the angle he approached the Liars with, saying that he thought Wilden had been harassing them. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow night's episode, which again, I will be watching Wednesday. Grr. I need to stop making plans for Tuesday evenings. But I'm celebrating my bestie's birthday a week late so it's a good reason at least.
I was really excited when Angela asked me to do a guest post, and today I'd like to share with you a couple projects that I recently or not-very-recently posted on my blog, and a few tips on how to make them. :)
One of my very first projects was this comfy tshirt-dress. Most of my ideas I gather from Pinterest, but this one was "original". :) I think the hardest things to sew are bodices and getting the sleeves and neckline right, so this one was super easy in that regard. ;)
I started with a tshirt I liked (but was too short) for the bodice, then added specifically-measured scraps of tshirts to that!
When I sew it's really easy for me to take the easy way out and take a lot of wild guesses, but in the end I'm left with a lot more failed projects then if I had taken the time and effort to do it right! Hit and miss isn't usually the way to go...
So for this dress I measured the "hem" of the dark gray scrap, then made sure the next "layer" was 2 inches larger. I did the same with every layer, making each one 2 inches longer then the one before, then working it in so it didn't wrinkle, but got larger gradually. Didn't want something really "huggy". :)
If you love denim, or have just outgrown or inherited a bunch of jeans, this project would be perfect. I used a CD case to cut out all the squares evenly, then sewed them all together... Not sure how long it took, but the result made me grin!
I added leftover felt (from a failed project) and fabric from an old plaid skirt to the back. Super comfy!
I'll just end now with a couple more pictures and really short descriptions... :)
Sheet music Wallpaper.
Wooden plaque with a permanent photo transfer.
Thanks again to Angela for letting me write this post! I'd love to have any of you stop by and hopefully get some project inspiration! Maybe you can get around to some of those Pinterest projects that have been sitting around on the "To Do" list for a few months. :)
I have some exciting news to share today! The lovely Tawny, of Tawny's Tidbits, came up with a really neat idea a few weeks ago and I had to jump on board. What is this idea? Well, read on to find out!

So, to give you all an idea of how you may go about this in the future, here is a little preview.
Revenge
(SPOILER ALERT)
I've been obsessed with this show since episode 1. I just love the whole premise behind it. Getting revenge on the people who did your family wrong and ruined your life, and being a super badass woman: Emily Thorne is my girl crush. I want to marry Jack Porter. And when I realized Daniel Grayson actually sounds like this in real life, he looked even hotter.
So, season 2 just came to an end and it totally blew my mind. I have wanted Jack to know Emily's true identity from day one and I can't wait to see how it plays out in the next season. I cried over Declan's death. I wasn't surprised to learn that Charlotte is pregnant. The 2 hour finale was a good call by the producers and it definitely left me wanting more. Summer is going to be a long wait for it's return!
Did anybody else watch the finale? What were your thought? Favorite part?
Tune in next Tuesday for the first official link up!
